Buy Cobots: Collaborative Robot Arms
Thor and Diana from Agile Robots plus Franka's research arms, from 3 to 20 kg payload.
A cobot works in the same space as people and can be set up without a large cell. When buying one, what matters most is payload, reach and whether the task needs force control. Here are the models in our catalog with the data that drives that decision.
Thor: six-axis cobots for industry
- Thor 3: 3 kg, 600 mm, ±0.03 mm, IP20. For light assembly in tight spaces. Agile Robots currently offers it in the APAC region only, so contact us about sourcing it for Europe.
- Thor 7: 7 kg, 900 mm, ±0.03 mm, IP54. For assembly and loading and unloading.
- Thor 7 Pro: the force-controlled version of Thor 7, with torque sensors in every joint, 0.5 N relative accuracy and hand-guided teaching.
- Thor 12: 12 kg, 1300 mm, ±0.05 mm, IP54. For assembly, handling, loading and unloading, and palletizing.
- Thor 20: 20 kg, 1700 mm, ±0.1 mm, IP54 at the wrist. Programmed graphically, by script or through an API.
Diana: seven axes with force control
- Diana 3: 3 kg, 772 mm, ±0.05 mm, IP54, 19 kg robot weight. Torque sensors in all 7 joints.
- Diana 7: 7 kg, ±0.05 mm, 0.5 N force control accuracy, IP50. Supports the Franka Control Interface for real-time control at 1 kHz.
- Diana 7 Med: the medical version with 7 kg and ±0.03 mm, meeting IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2.
Franka: robot arms for research and physical AI
- Franka Research 3: 3 kg, 855 mm, 7 degrees of freedom, a torque sensor in every joint and 1 kHz real-time control. Engineered and manufactured in Germany.
- Franka Research 3 Duo: dual-arm platform with 3 kg and 855 mm per arm, for teleoperation, data collection and policy execution.
How to choose the right cobot
- Payload: add up workpiece and tool, and leave some margin. Matching robot grippers have their own page.
- Reach: measure from the mounting point to the farthest pick point, not just to the place position.
- Force control: it helps with contact tasks such as insertion. For plain pick-and-place, a model without sensing in every joint is often enough.
- Environment: protection ratings in this range run from IP20 to IP54, which matters in dusty or damp conditions.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a cobot and an industrial robot?
A cobot is designed to share a workspace with people and, for example, detects collisions. Classic industrial robots usually run faster with heavier loads, but behind guarding.
Does a cobot still need guarding?
That's decided by the risk assessment of the actual application, not by the robot alone. A sharp workpiece or a heavy tool can call for extra measures.
Thor or Diana: which fits better?
Thor has six axes and covers larger loads, up to 20 kg. Diana has seven axes and torque sensors in every joint, which helps in tight workspaces and on force-controlled tasks. If you want force control on six axes, the Thor 7 Pro is the alternative.
